Service Update: Important Notice

Announcement Service Update

We are writing to share an important update regarding the future of OnionWatch. After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to wind down the platform. We want to provide our users with advance notice and full transparency.

What This Means

OnionWatch will cease operations on May 31, 2026. Until that date, the platform will continue to operate as usual. All monitoring, alerts, and features will remain fully functional. We encourage you to use this transition period to export your data and migrate to alternative solutions.

Immediate Changes

Effective immediately, we have made the following changes:

  • No new subscriptions or plan changes: We are no longer accepting new subscriptions, upgrades, or downgrades. Existing subscribers can continue using their current plan until it expires or May 31, 2026, whichever comes first. You may still cancel your subscription at any time.
  • Monitoring regions: We are phasing out our US and Asia monitoring regions. Only the EU (Europe Central) region is now available for new and existing monitoring jobs. Existing jobs that use US or Asia regions will continue to run from EU only.

Why This Decision

Like many small teams, we have had to evaluate the long-term sustainability of our operations. Despite our best efforts, the economic realities of running this service have led us to conclude that we can no longer maintain it in a way that meets our standards. This was not a decision we made lightly—we are grateful for every user who trusted us with their monitoring needs.

Next Steps

We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition. Over the coming months, we will:

  • Continue providing full service through May 31, 2026
  • Offer data export options for your monitoring configurations and historical data
  • Most likely open source key platform services so the community can continue to benefit from and build upon them
  • Communicate any additional updates as we approach the sunset date

If you have an active subscription, we will process cancellations appropriately and ensure no charges extend beyond the service period. Please reach out to our support team if you have questions about your account.

Thank You

To everyone who has used OnionWatch over the past year—thank you. Building and operating this platform has been a meaningful experience, and we appreciate your support. We hope the service has been valuable to you, and we wish you success with whatever monitoring solution you choose next.
